These are random cut jigsaw puzzles with fascinating piece shapes. As far as we know, this style of cutting is unique to this company.

This all America business was founded in 1978. It is based at Jackson in the heart of the White Mountains and unsurprisingly this is the origin of the brand name.

Before developing their now famous jigsaw puzzles, the business was called “Mintowski Publications” and they specialised in the creation of illustrated posters for resort areas. By travelling across America, they managed to sell “birds eye view” posters to commercial businesses, such as restaurants, inns and gift shops, where their artistry was greatly applauded.

It was in 1988 that they realised the geographical complexity of the posters would make excellent educational puzzles. To this day, the company have great belief in using puzzles as tools for teaching and many of their jigsaws have an educational theme.

Map puzzles are a speciality and they list 40 products in their website section called “State and Regional Puzzles”.

As well as supplying retail outlets the company also operates its own online website where consumers can shop by theme, difficulty, artist or piece count.
